I love gourds - big ones, small ones, smooth ones, bumpy ones….I love them all!  While I may gussy them up a bit with fabiric or cord or beads, they are still recognizably loved gourds!

 

Earlier in my life I was a potter.  I get the same satisfaction from a nicely embellished gourd that I did from a well thrown and glazed vessel.

 

The gourds I use are grown in the part of the world that we live in - the Southwest.  I think they reflect the beauty that we are so fortunate to have all around us.
